A history of
firsts.

Dim Auto Electric was built on a simple conviction: that Caribbean owners of premium European vehicles deserve the same standard of care available in Stuttgart, Munich, Solihull, or Zuffenhausen. For more than two decades, we have made that real.

⌗ 01 / 04 The journey

Why we exist.

Owning a German car in the Caribbean has always been a lonely proposition. The dealer covers what's under warranty. After that, you're handed off to whoever's willing — and the gap between "willing" and "qualified" can cost you tens of thousands of dollars and an engine.

We started Dim Auto Electric to close that gap. To put genuine factory-grade diagnostic capability — the same XENTRY, the same ISTA, the same PIWIS, the same Pathfinder used inside the dealer service bays — into the hands of an independent shop that answers to its customers, not to a sales target.

Two decades and many firsts later, we are the only Mercedes-Benz certified independent repair facility in the English-speaking Caribbean. That isn't a marketing claim. It's verifiable.

⌗ 02 / 04 Firsts

A timeline of regional firsts.

2003

Founded in Kingston

Opened with a focused mission: factory-grade work on premium European vehicles for Caribbean owners.

2008

First in the region with full XENTRY

Brought online the same Mercedes-Benz factory diagnostic platform used inside dealer service bays — first independent shop in the English-speaking Caribbean to do so.

2012

BMW ISTA + ICOM Next

Added BMW factory tooling. Coding, programming, retrofit — all done correctly to factory spec.

2016

Porsche PIWIS

Became one of very few Caribbean independents with PIWIS. Suddenly Cayenne and Panamera owners had a real option outside the franchise dealer.

2019

JLR Pathfinder

Range Rover and Land Rover joined the capability list with the current factory tool — not a generic OBD reader pretending to be one.

2024

Mercedes-Benz Certification

Awarded formal Mercedes-Benz certification — the only independent shop in the English-speaking Caribbean to hold it.

⌗ 03 / 04 What certification means

A word with weight.

"Mercedes specialist" is a phrase any shop can put on a sign. Certification is a different thing entirely. It means our facility, our tooling, our processes, and our technicians have all been formally evaluated by Mercedes-Benz and meet the standard required to perform service work outside the dealer network.

For an owner, that translates to four practical things: warranty-respecting repair procedures, current technical service bulletins, OEM parts cross-references by VIN, and access to the same vehicle data the factory sees.

It also means accountability. Certification is not a one-time sticker — it's maintained through ongoing training, audits, and adherence to manufacturer standards. That's what your money buys when you choose us.
